DILEOREG
THE
DIGITAL INTEGRATED
WARD LEONARD REGULATOR
AN
APPLICATION ENGINEERED SYSTEM CUSTOMIZED FOR YOUR PLANT
1.
Purpose
The
objective of the “DILEOREG” Digital Integrated Ward Leonard
Regulator is to provide full closed loop field control of a Ward Leonard
unit in order to maximise operational efficiency.
2.
Overview
“DILEOREG”
is a cost effective closed loop regulator for Ward Leonard drives for
the following applications:
· Winder.
· Elevators.
· Mills and other processing drives.
· Cranes.
· Drag lines.
· Machine tools.
The
“DILEOREG” is in the form of a bolt-on upgrade for existing
equipment and consists of a packaged 4 quadrant digitally controlled
converter for the generator field excitation; a 2 quadrant current controlled
converter for motor field excitation; a PLC based regulator for control
and logic; and auxiliary items. It is accompanied by a complete set
of detailed schematics, software printout and maintenance documentation.
3.
“Dileoreg” Features
The
“DILEOREG” control system will have the following features:
· All digital regulator, protection and logic functions.
· Password restricted access to limiting parameters.
· Parameter accesses via integral keyboard and display.
· Converter and PLC are PC programmable.
· PC diagnostics support.
· Supports standard communication protocol.
· Uses encoders for position and speed feedback signals.
· Minimum plant shutdown for changeover and commissioning.
· Regulator customised for each particular application.
· DC machine protection functions.
· Supports multi-machine drives.
· Supports both armature loop circuit breaker and field discharge
schemes.
· No analogue adjustments required.
· Enables (and controls) automatic operation.
· Current and / or EMF control loops.
· Local safety circuit with annunciator.
· Safety circuit bridging facilities.
· Complete interface to plant equipment.
· Interlocked test mode via keyboard.
4.
Field Converter
The
field converter is equipped with its own diagnostic features that are
accessible via a local display as well as its serial communication port.
An INTEL 32 bit microchip performs all processing functions. The system
firmware is stored in EPROM and the user parameters are stored in flashram.
A range of current ratings is available to suit a range of drives with
field currents from 30 amps to 200 amps. The anode supply transformer
is selected to suit the particular application.
5.
Field converter Features
The
field converter has the following features:
· Self-diagnostic.
· Auto-optimisation of loops.
· Current regulator trace.
· Speed regulator trace.
· Variable current limit.
· Predictive bridge selection.
· Adaptive gain when the field current is discontinuous.
6. PLC Based Regulator and Logic
An
industrial standard PLC is used, and includes all necessary I / O for
the regulator and its functions, as well as the provision for the plant
interface and other plant control functions as required.
7.
REGULATOR FUNCTIONS
The
regulator has the following functions:
· 4 quadrant 6 pulse converter.
· Firing pulse control.
